Coming Soon: Eltie Takes the Lead by Molly Burke

Posted on February 17, 2026February 17, 2026 By Jenna No Comments on Coming Soon: Eltie Takes the Lead by Molly Burke

Like most dogs, Eltie loves belly rubs, playing in the grass, and spending time with his human, Molly. But there’s something that makes Elite different than the other pups at the playground―Eltie’s got a job!

Welcome to a new series on the blog where I feature books I’m excited to read yet but haven’t, either because they aren’t out yet, or because my TBR is too long and my life is busy. (Can I have a secret 8th day of a week just for reading and painting?) Let’s kick it off with a promo for Canadian-born blind social media personality and advocacy powerhouse Molly Burke and her upcoming children’s book about guide dogs: Eltie Takes the Lead!

About the Book

A Guide Dog’s Tail
by Molly Burke

Add it to your Goodreads TBR!

From social media star and disability advocate Molly Burke comes a sweet story of friendship, connection, and accessibility―as told by Burke’s real-life guide dog, Eltie

Like most dogs, Eltie loves belly rubs, playing in the grass, and spending time with his human, Molly. But there’s something that makes Elite different than the other pups at the playground―Eltie’s got a job! His best friend Molly is blind, and she needs Eltie’s help to navigate the world. Eltie helps Molly get to class, finds what she wants in the cafeteria (and doesn’t take a bite even though it smells really good), and plays with Molly at the park. Join Molly and Eltie as they work together through the school day and learn all about the important ways guide dogs help their humans.

Pre-orders are so important to a project like this! Molly wants to publish a whole series of children’s books about service animals and disability, but the publishing industry needs to know that there’s an audience out there willing to buy and read.

About the Illustrator

Raised on Sunny Island (Singapore), Ziyue Chen, aka Angeline, lives with her husband, Zw, and her two darling children. Dabbling in art was her form of escape from the struggles and confusion of growing up deaf. This led her to discover the beauty of how the art communicates with the viewer. Her life goal has been to have an emotional connection with those who view her work. She enjoys visualizing stories through illustrations, working on mostly children’s books.
