Flight 182 crashes in San Diego, everyone aboard is killed, including Reza Roshtti, who is on his way to present the final plans for a top secret project to his employer, California Robotics. Giti Roshtti appears on a newscast after the doomed flight, Jaffar Hamid Harraj is smitten with the bereaved widow who lives across the globe in the United States.

When Jack Coward, an ex-marine turned private investigator, is hired to find out everything he can about this beautiful woman, Jack sets in motion circumstances that bring Giti and Jaffar together. Unfortunately for Giti, Jaffar Harraj has a deep, dark secret. Jaffar is not only a senior member of the Islamic Hamas Movement, but a psychotic killer.

Jaffar’s aim is to use Giti’s U.S. citizenship as a mechanism through which he can establish inroads into the United States, the Great Satan of the western world and land of the infidels. One of the missions of Islamic Hamas is to spread terror throughout the United States.

The United States newest lettered agency, NATA or National Anti-Terrorist Agency has some new recruits, Jack Coward and his life-long friend Don Ziegler. They team up with other members of NATA, including ex-Air Force Lieutenant Michelle Hough, to try and discover the plans of Jaffar and the Islamic Hamas, and how Giti is involved in the two.

Excerpt

In the semi-darkness Jack could hardly help but notice the sedan in his rearview mirror as it fish-tailed and accelerated in his direction, headlights slicing back and forth as its driver fought for control. “What the hell?” Jack said. He turned right on East Russell Road, pressed the gas pedal hard and whistled as the Camaro’s V-8 engine responded with an instant rush of speed that pushed Jack flat into his seat.

Luckily, there were few people on the road at this time of the morning, so Jack could keep his pursuer in sight. He was just over half a block in front them and they were closing in. Ahead of him, Jack saw a green light—but the flashing pedestrian signal at the crosswalk gave Jack an indication that the light would soon change. He glanced into his mirror, trying to gauge the speed of the blue Ford following him, then accelerated just enough to guarantee he would make the light but his pursuers would not. His timing was perfect; the light turned to amber just as he went through the intersection.

“Hurry Akbal, he’s getting away!”

“But, Mohammed! The light is changing!”

“I don’t care! He mustn’t get away, more gas!” Mohammed bent over and with his meaty left hand shoved his brother’s leg further down on the gas. The Ford—now travelling in excess of 50 miles per hour—crossed into the intersection.

Unbeknownst to the brothers Hussan, at that moment Constable Michael Carr was travelling 100 yards in front of two other patrol cars on his way toward his precinct. He slowed down as he approached East Russell Road, but once the light changed to green he resumed his speed. He looked around to see if the other patrol cars were going to make the light, as they had plans to all stop together and pick up coffee for the staff at the precinct. In the split second that his attention was elsewhere, the blue Ford slammed into his patrol car, just behind the rear passenger door.

The impact was so severe it bent the heavy rectangular steel frame of the police car as if it was plasticine, folding it, the other car obliterating the passenger side of the Chevrolet all the way to the transmission tunnel. The trunk of the cruiser bent outward, as if to wrap itself around the crushed front end of the blue sedan that hit it. The welded seam of the gas tank bent and split under the forces imposed on it and almost the entire contents poured onto the pavement in an instant.

The impact of the collision drove the police car diagonally across the intersection and one of the two-inch-wide straps that held its gas tank in place dragged across the ground leaving a shower of sparks in its wake. The instant before both vehicles came to rest, the vapors from the spreading pool of gasoline ignited. The initial fireball was blinding in the semi-darkness and so large it momentarily engulfed both cars.
