My Review

My Rating: 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Consider “liking” my review on Gooreads!

I was granted complimentary access to a PDF copy of My Career Journal as part of my participation in a blog tour for this title with Goddess Fish Promotions. Thank you to all involved in affording me this opportunity! My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.

And on that note, I’m going to start by being completely honest: I was prepared to give this a middle of the road review before I started looking over it. The cover is very standard business. The concept has been done. The I started leafing through the pages and just 15 pages into the PDF I was presented with a SWOT chart. I’m not sure that everyone interested in buying this book would know what a SWOT chart is or how to use it, but I’m just wrapping up a business administration diploma (accounting major) and I recognize those from our marketing classes. This journal has actually been designed by someone with actual business experience.

This journal goes on to provided multiple blocks of similar content to break up your year. Monthly calendars followed by weekly and daily planning grouped together with your goal setting, mentorship planning, brainstorming, and more SWOT charts. It prompts you to reflect back on the month just ended and to set quarterly goals. These are things I’ve seen very successful people advocate for a lot. An independent author I love to follow on YouTube calls herself out publicly for any quarterly goals she doesn’t achieve and sets new ones out there in the open on her channel, both for accountability and inspiration to do the same. It’s working for her, too!

In short, this career journal has the elements and layout you need to actually set and achieve reachable goals. If you’re trying to advance your career, especially if you’re even tangentially involved in the world of business, this looks like an excellent resource to help you get started.
