Protecting her was his duty.
Falling in love was forbidden.
Loving her was all that mattered, even if it meant he would be exiled for all eternity.

Claudia Emerson’s life is about to change. It seems like a tragic coincidence when her good friend, who shares the same first and last name, dies in a car accident. Grief brings tumultuous dreams—but these are more than simple dreams. In sleep, Claudia travels to another world called Crossroads. There, she meets Michael, a Nephilim–half angel, half human. Meeting him and being there changes her forever. It marks her as special, and that may not be a good thing. Now fallen angels and demons are after her, and it is up to Michael and the other Nephilim to protect her. Her dreams become a nightmare as secrets are revealed about who she really is and the true identities of the people she loves most.

Excerpt

My breath caught in my throat. I gaped from Michael to Davin as I listened to their conversation, trying to come up with the words to ask everything I wanted to know. Like who the Fallen were and why they would be after me. Without warning, Michael and Davin placed their arms around me on either side, and we shot into the air.

“Ahhh! Oh my God.” I screamed at the top of my lungs as the wind whipped through my hair. “You’re flying. I’m flying. What’s going on? How is this possible? Where are we going?”

“Are you human girls always this dramatic?” Davin snickered. “Sunday school sure didn’t pay off for you. Don’t you know your Ten Commandments? Thou shall not take the Lord’s name in vain?”

“Are you serious? You’re scolding me about the Ten Commandments? This isn’t normal. What are you?”

His lips twisted wickedly. “You don’t listen very well, do you? I told you I’m an angel. You believe me now?”

I didn’t know what to believe. As far as I knew, I was dreaming—the most vivid dream I’d ever experienced. Even if what they told me was true, what kind of angels would be so rude? I thought angels would be kind and noble.

Michael, to my right, stayed silent while Davin thoroughly enjoyed himself, chuckling.

“Where are we going?” I demanded. “Why aren’t you telling me anything?”

Michael turned to me with a cold stare. “You should have listened. I told you not to come back.”
