What’s your favourite subgenre of romance and why?

Hands down, my favorite subgenre of romance is Rock Star Romance. I love reading it. I love writing it. Why? You have heroes who are not only rich and alpha but also sensitive and artistic. They are emotional. Gorgeous. Edgy. Sexy. Coveted. They come in all shapes and sizes, and their magnetic personalities create so many fun worlds to play in.

As someone who has worked in music for my entire life, bringing these men and women to life is so powerful Plus, the men and women that become their HEA are equally as intriguing.

Rock Star Romance is so diverse. There are so many sub-tropes that are incorporated within the stories – which means there is something for everyone. Opposites attract. Soul Mates. Fake relationships. Addiction. Secret babies. Unplanned pregnancy. Redemption. Family dynamics. Separation. Angst. Misunderstandings. Friends to lovers. Enemies to lovers. Stuck together. Forbidden love. Soul Mates. Love triangles. Celebrity life.

Rock Star Romance has it all!

As an author, it’s the best creative sandbox EVER!

Have I convinced you yet?

If you’re not into “rock” per se, remember that Rock Star Romance pertains to more than just rock. Rock Star Romance features many different types of musical styles to choose from. While I prefer straight-up rock (and long-haired hotties) – so many of my fellow authors write about pop, metal, punk, country, acoustic, hip-hop – the choices are endless (see what I did there).

Rock Star Romance settings are so phenomenal. The plot can take place while the band is on tour. Or in an office (e.g., record label, management company). The band can originate in a big city. Or a small town. Add in exotic locations. Fantasy. Private Jets. Award shows. Photoshoots. Media coverage. Fans. Stalkers. Dodging the press. Disguises. Owning expensive properties. Fancy cars.

I hope I’ve convinced you that Rock Star Romance has ALL THE BEST stuff from every contemporary romance genre. If you haven’t tried it, please do!

Here’s a little about me. I wrote my first Rockstar Romance when I was only fifteen years old. My friends and I were OBSESSED with musicians. We each had a different “love” from a different musician genre. I started writing about it, creating a world where we all began dating our dream men. Each night I’d write a couple of pages and call my friends to read the latest “installment.”

I never married a Rock Star, per se (my husband is a hottie, and a rock star in his own right) but I did end up working in the music business for many years. First as a band manager and concert promoter and later as an expert in media/technology that has brought music online in many digital formats. My escape from a busy career was contemporary romance.

Lo and behold, I discovered that Rock Star Romance was a REAL THING! I devoured every book I could find. There are so many great authors who write in the genre, I couldn’t get enough.

Then, a couple of years ago, my husband I and I were moving. Determined to do a purge, I finally went through about thirty boxes of crap I’d been hauling around since high school. Lo and behold, I found my teenage manuscript. I read it. It wasn’t too bad considering my fifteen-year-old self coveted a man wearing leather cheetah pants.

You know where this is going— my husband and my friends (who are still my besties) convinced me to reimagine the story.

In 2020, I released ENDLESS, my reimagined debut novel and the first book in my Less Than Zero Rockstar Romance Series. The only thing that remains from my original draft is the name of my hero, Tyson Rainier. The entire story (and series) is not only a love letter to my hometown of Seattle, but a nod to all the years I spent working in the music industry.

On Paddy’s Day, March 17, 2021, FEARLESS will be launched to the world. Every book is special to me, and this one tells the story of Connor and Ronni. Both have overcome traumatic life experiences to find success. Their love story is passionate and difficult, but their deep love for each other hopefully shines through. Plus, Ireland.

I hope you will try a Rockstar Romance if you’ve never read one, and of course I would love for you to get to know my swoonworthy Rock Stars and the strong, sassy women who love them!
