Tips on involving kids involved with Christmas at your home?

It’s so important to remember that Christmas should be fun. Too often, we all get stressed out about all we have to do during this time of year. Between shopping, entertaining, decorating, and now with Covid, the next month can be very trying for families everywhere. That’s why I think it’s very important to remember that this Christmas is one that will stand out in your children’s memories for decades to come.

The memories that you create around this Christmas season are ones your children will share with their children and their grandchildren. They’ll tell stories of the Christmas during the pandemic. Christmas without school. Christmas with face masks. And a Christmas like no other that they have ever experienced.

With that in mind, let’s fill our children’s memories with wonderful memories, projects, and traditions this Christmas season. We can start with decorating your Christmas tree. If the little ones are old enough, let them help hang ornaments on the tree. If they’re too young, have them join you for the decorating of the tree. In either instance, share the stories of the ornaments you’re hanging. In Oliver the Ornament, we’ve trademarked a line that says: Every Ornament Tells a Story. This is true for families everywhere, so the decorating of a tree takes on a new and very special tradition for your own family.

Next, make a plan of activities to undertake with your children during the holidays. Maybe it’s going out for a drive to look at lights, or maybe it’s participating in a toy drive, or baking cookies. Having a schedule of events your family is going to participate in, will help everyone enjoy the season that much more.

On our website at www.olivertheornament.com we feature lots of fun family activities to participate in simply by clicking on any of our ornaments. At a time when parents are under so much stress we hope these tools help bringing families together to celebrate the joy of this season.

Oliver the Ornament is a heartwarming tale of one family’s cherished Christmas ornaments. The story centers on Oliver, who has been with this family since Mom and Dad’s very first date. Years later, Oliver, now injured and bullied, still has the magic of Christmas in his heart. The story follows Oliver’s excitement for Christmas, his heartbreak, and his determination to overcome all odds to save the day. Oliver, along with his friends, will warm your heart with his kindness, humility, and love for his family and friends. We hope the story will bring families together to tell the stories of their own ornaments and the special meaning that so many of them possess. Because after all…. Every Ornament Tells a StoryTM The 56 page 10 X 10 book is sold with an adorable hand-painted ornament of Oliver himself, packaged in a beautiful gift set.
