Gia reconnects with a man from her past and attempts to rebuild her broken empire. With the world of Mermaids becoming increasingly hostile to the world of Man, will Gia have to choose sides in this escalating global conflict?

Dive into the extremely glamorous life of Gia Acquaviva, an ultra-rich Venetian mogul with a portfolio of clubs and casinos around the globe. Gia harbors dark secrets––and an underwater graveyard filled with the bones of her former lovers.

Her family’s roots descend from the mythological sirens of ancient Greece, but she’s taken every precaution to protect her anonymity and the existence of other mermaids. Gia lures in men with a beguiling façade, but inside lurks a deeply troubled soul, severely damaged by a mysterious past.

Fans of Killing Eve and Big Little Lies will love Mermaid of Venice, a sexy psychological thriller with lush fantasy elements. The setting is modern day Europe with all the chic locales, hot spots and vistas of Patricia Highsmith’s The Talented Mr. Ripley and a juicy splash of the lavish lifestyle in E. L. James’s 50 Shades series. This is not the Little Mermaid you grew up with. Gia’s out for blood.

Mermaid of Venice is the fourth installment in a series of 6 books about Gia Acquaviva.

The sky was cloudy as the merfolk left Dakar. Maritime rules required no more than twelve passengers on a cargo ship, so Florent had ordered the crew to offload multiple steel containers, making space for empty ones, which were to become temporary housing for the refugees.

Once the Senegalese passengers were settled on the ship. Florent approached Gia and Moussa.

“I’ve arranged special quarters for you, Moussa. And for you as well, Gia… although there isn’t enough space on board the ship, which means Gia will have to share a bed with me.”

“Florent,” Moussa replied, “if it’s all right with you, I’d like to allow my room to be used by those who need a bit more rest or medical attention. There’s an older gentleman who isn’t well. I would like to have him taken there.”

Florent nodded in accordance. “Bien sûr. I’ll ask the nurse to look after your friend.” Then Florent glanced over at Gia, eyes dancing, “And you, Mademoiselle?”

“Bene,” Gia exhaled sharply, “I am merely a guest. Am I not, Florent? It appears as though you have organized everything in a way that pleases you, so, by all means, show me to our room.”

Florent escorted her below deck, to the captain’s quarters.

The accommodation was sparse, but still cozy. Nestled into a corner surrounded by portholes was a full-size bed—if you could really call it that, because the mattress was more like an overly ambitious twin-size.

The boat hit an uneven wave, and Florent swayed toward Gia.

When he regained his posture, he asked, “May I hold your daughter?”

Gia squinted at him. “I am finding your behavior more than strange, Florent. What are your intentions? First you make veiled threats, then you call the police on me, and now you are behaving like some kind of family man. I do not understand.”

He ignored her and simply replied, somewhat absent-mindedly, “I have a daughter as well.” He then reached out and stroked Serena’s cheek with his finger.

The baby seemed to like it, because she gurgled softly.

Gia took her luggage to the bed and reached inside for her paja- mas. “Florent, since you are feeling so helpful,” she purred, “please hold the baby while I change.”

Florent took Serena into his arms and snuggled her near his neck. She poked at the stubble under his chin.

Gia slipped off all her clothes, and Florent allowed his eyes to wander over to her. She drew his gaze up to hers.

He found it incredible that Gia still looked very much like she had when they were lovers, twenty-five years ago.

The baby tugged down his turtleneck, exposing the thick scar across his neck. Gia caught a glimpse of it and was immediately transported to that night on the lake. Her nipples hardened, and her face flushed.

Florent noticed.

“You’re sick,” he laughed… a shallow laugh, because he hadn’t realized it until then, but his breath seemed to have gone.
