On the day Roz Garnet signed divorce papers, ending her near thirty year marriage to a hot-shot sports agent, she figured a celebration was in order. Little did she know that stopping by her favorite Detroit bar for an old fashioned would lead to a life-altering moment. All she wanted to do was to sink in her own self-pity puddle and try to figure out what she was going to do next.

Retired football star Sean Ridley was thrilled to have landed an up-and-coming agent for his son, so once that deal was struck, he stopped by his favorite Detroit bar for his own solitary celebration—no plans in place for a life-changing, chance meet up either.

But lives are changed, and plans are altered, and after one seriously hot weekend at a premiere horse racing event, Roz and Sean have to face the fact of the matter—that their first meeting might have been pure coincidence but it was one that made all the difference.

Lust and love don’t stop happening after forty—just ask the G.O.A.T.

Excerpt

She had her hand on the inner door again when it swung open. Her date filled the doorway in a way that made her girlie knees go weak all over again. He is so … impressive, she thought as she observed him observing her. But of course, her husband—ex-husband, she reminded herself—was nothing if not impressive, at least when he stood in doorways.

Despite her effort not to, she found herself comparing the two men. Same height more or less, at six-foot-three-ish. Same span of shoulders. Same trim waist. Same ability to wear clothes in such a way that brought females in near proximity to their collective—and sometimes literal—knees. Ugh. She shook her head to clear it. Screw this guy and his hotness. If she’d learned one thing married to The Catch of the Decade—looking great and actually being great were two entirely different things.

“What? Did my card not go through or something?” She’d insisted on paying her half plus the wine since he’d barely consumed a glass of the stuff.

So, not a date after all, Rosalyn my love. Chill the hell out.

“No, I’m just…” His face flushed above the sexy-as-hell beard. “Sorry. I’m being rude.”

“Whatever,” Roz said, turning away from him before she did something ridiculous and out-of-character for her. He caught up with her and opened the outer door, leaning his torso against her back in the process. She squeezed her eyes shut for a split second. She really owed it to herself to … what? Get laid? Have a sleazy hook-up? Have an actual man-bestowed orgasm?

All of the above. And right away.

The Liz Crowe backlist has something for any reader seeking complex storylines with humor and complete casts of characters that will delight, at times frustrate, and always linger in the imagination long after the book is finished.
