My Review

My Rating: 4 Star
Consider liking my review on Goodreads

I was granted complimentary access to Where Is He? Tank, the Tortoise by Parimalasri Docktor as part of my participation in a blog tour for this title with Goddess Fish Promotions. Thank you to all involved for affording me this opportunity! My thought are my own and my review is honest.

Where Is He? is an adorable picture book about a bean-loving Russian turtle named Tank and his adventures exploring around the house he lives in. It’s fun, it’s colourful, and the illustrations are an absolute joy to look at!

The organization of text with and over illustrations is very well done. Unlike some children’s books I’ve read with text overlayed on illustrations, this is very easy to read. The ratio of text to pictures is a bit high for a short picture book, so I would say this is most appropriate for older readers on the verge of graduating to chapter books, or for guided reading and storytime activities between young kids and their parents, caregivers, and teachers.

About the Author

Parimalasri was born and raised in India. She moved to the United States in 1990.

She currently resides in Philadelphia. She has written a few children’s books and a memoir. “Where is he?” is her fourth children’s book.

This is her debut as an author and illustrator. The wood burning illustration in the book is by Parimalasri. She enjoys beadwork, painting, drawing and pyrography.
