One bite changed my life.

I was living life to the fullest when a wolf attacked.

Now I’ve been ripped from my home and shipped off to Bad Moon Academy, a place for changed wolves. Or so I’m told.

There’s something sinister lurking within the confines of the academy, and I’m starting to think I was brought here as a sacrifice.

This is a dark academy reverse harem with dangerously possessive shifters.

Excerpt

Taking a slow step forward, his eyes lock with mine. “A luna is a female alpha. A shifter blessed by the moon.”

“I thought genetic mutations were responsible for shifters.”

He takes another step, towering over me. I crane my neck to better hold his gaze.

“Some say the shifter mutation occurred during the light of the full moon, marking us as children of the lunar tides.”

Right.

“Is that why my wolf wanted to pummel you? Because I’m a luna?”

Everett grins and runs his hand over his short hair. “That’s more because she’s a superior being.”

He’s not so bad, my wolf says, preening. If he’s well-endowed, he would be a good addition to our harem.

Our what now? I ask, trying not to look outwardly confused.

Lunas have five partners. Five who fulfill her pack needs. An alpha, beta, delta, zeta, and someone with a strong affinity toward nurturing.

What level does that? I haven’t learned the different levels and what they mean, but why would the fifth need be different than the other needs?

It does not matter, but the position is one of the most treasured as he is the one who will hold us together. Omegas can fulfill this role, but so can another.

“Is she speaking?”

I jump when Everett touches my arm. He moved closer, and I didn’t even realize it. I take a step away.

“She was explaining some things.”

“The harem?” he asks as if a woman having not one but five guys is no big deal.

I squint at him. “So it’s a thing?”

Part of me didn’t believe her.

“It is a thing. Lunas are not the only female shifters who take harems, but she is the only one who needs the harem.”

Not going to lie, I’m not particularly excited about being a needy, codependent woman. I’ve always prided myself in being comfortable on my own. Even more so after Mom killed herself. Love made her soft.

I’m not.

Lunas are not weak.

Needing five men to survive isn’t weak? I ask her, voice colored with disbelief.

Child, I never said anything about need. We take what we want.

Her correction does little to console me.

Meeting Everett’s intense gaze, I lift an eyebrow. “Is that all?”

He wavers on the edge of a question but thinks better of it and shakes his head. “When you’re ready, I’m here to talk.”

Leaving the classroom, I think over what he and my wolf said.

Five partners?

Sounds like a lot of work if I’m honest.

It isn’t work if they’re part of the pack. They’ll make your life easier, fulfill you in ways you’ve never dreamed of. It is a privilege to be part of a luna’s harem.

Can we talk about something else? Are you hungry? You’re always hungry. Let’s go get a snack, focus on that.

My diversion works because my wolf stays hungry.
